Finance & Accounting Manager

Maine Lobster Now is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer seafood company based in Saco, Maine. We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and support financial analysis and forecasting.
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing core accounting processes, and helping leadership understand the financial performance of the business.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable connecting financial data with real operational activity.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable including 3-way match verification
- Process payroll and payroll reconciliation
- Prepare weekly cash reports
- Create and manage customer invoices
- Process customer credits, GSR claims, and bulk claims
Monthly Responsibilities
- Inventory reconciliation and adjustments
- Revenue recognition and unearned revenue tracking
- Gift card accounting and reconciliation
- Payroll clearing account reconciliation
- General ledger review and month-end close support
Financial Management
- Manage prepaid expenses and accruals
- Track and accrue shipping expenses including UPS costs
- Assist with financial forecasts and seasonal planning
- Identify discrepancies between financial records and operational activity
HR / Administrative
- Administer employee benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans
- Assist with HR compliance documentation and reporting as needed
- Track benefit eligibility and ensure payroll deduction accuracy
- Respond to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and deductions
- Manage the annual open enrollment process and coordinate with benefits providers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting practices
- Experience with inventory accounting and revenue recognition preferred
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes
